Weddings have fascinated me since the first one I went to on the California coast.
The romantic aura and fairy-tale happiness at a wedding
are the stuff that little girl’s dreams are made of.
Fire sparkles in the bride’s eye; nervousness laces the pacing of the waiting groom; and pride glows on the face of the father as he dances with his daughter. These are some of my favorite moments in a wedding. Tell me, what other day in a human’s life has more of an impact on their future and the future of their entire family. Names are exchanged, promises are made, and great hopes for the future burn bright.
I find that neither fame nor fortune have any effect on the spirit of that girl standing at the end of the aisle. Whether the dress she’s wearing has cost ten thousand dollars, or her annual income is ten thousand dollars, that white material lays on top of a nervous, hopeful and proud heart. There is no other person in the world worthy of standing at the other end of that aisle. No other day will be solely theirs to celebrate for the rest of their lives.
I was asked recently when I was sitting in an interview where I saw my career in five years. Immediately I knew the answer. Having a job where I could help couples plan the most important day of their lives would be a dream come true. As I embark on this next step in my career I look forward to sharing my struggles, lessons learned and triumphs with you.
So with this introduction to my wedding blog, here’s to the mistakes that will be made, the tears that will be shed and legacy of each and every couple’s life together.
